Global Health

The Faculty’s responsibility encompasses education, research, and/or service. Demonstrates loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of his/her department, school, and the University, and follows the administrative policies set up by the University and the individual school. 
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in low resource settings to improve the health of those who are at an economic, social, or environmental disadvantage and dedication to eliminating disparities and addressing social determinants of health using a transformational development approach, especially in a lower-middle income country (LMIC) context.  Performs other duties as needed.
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution and at least 5 years practice experience in Global Health preferred, a master’s degree from an accredited institution with more than 15 years practice experience in Global Health would be considered. Satisfactory completion of at least one of the following; A) Minimum of five years of relevant global public health experience, B) Minimum of three years of successful teaching at the graduate level, C) Minimum of at least three publications in refereed journals or the equivalent. Research expertise and/or strong practice related experience with global public health problems including but not limited to:  health systems planning and policy, health finance, program evaluation, universal healthcare coverage (UHC), resilience and equity; social determinants of health, social and behavior change communication (SBCC), infectious (HIV/AIDS, malaria, etc.) and non-communicable diseases; mental health;  women/child/reproductive health; and nutrition.  Experience with established networks of institutions (international, governmental, and non-governmental) relevant to global health and development.  Experience creating collaborations and partnerships with community, social, clinical, and translational research centers at local, state, national, and global levels to improve community population health and resiliency in low resource contexts.
Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able speak in English with professional quality. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Professional certification, licensure or registration as appropriate.
