Computed Tomography (CT) - (Per diem, Day Shift) -

The Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Specialist provides nurturing, compassionate and personalized patient-centered care in an environment that focuses on healing body, mind and spirit. Works under the supervision of the Radiology Director. Performs Computed Tomography procedures utilizing specialized equipment for Radiographic Imaging and recording. Maintains responsibility for patient care along with other members of the Radiographic team. Maintains patient care independently under CT. Demonstrates the ability to instruct CT students as well as properly orientate new staff. Ensures effective communication between the patient, other staff, supervisors, physicians and other hospital departments. Performs other duties as needed.


Completion of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited Radiologic Technologist Program required. Minimum one year radiology experience required, three years preferred. Minimum one year experience in all aspects of Computed Tomography including advanced procedures i.e. Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA), Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA), Interventional procedures required. Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Computed Tomography ARRT advanced license preferred.


Ability to operate all appropriate Radiology equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients of all ages, physicians and co-workers. Proficient in all aspects of Computed Tomography (CT) including advanced procedures i.e. Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA), Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA) and Interventional procedures. The ability to learn and grow with new technology. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (i.e. Microsoft Windows, Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, internet, timekeeping, e-mail); troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment (i.e. Intravenous (IV) pumps, Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitors, vital sign machines, bed and gurney operation, and the like). Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place and patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
