Nursing Administration (Part-time, Day shift) 20 hrs/week -

The Coordinator-RN Data achieves, maintains and applies a robust understanding of database maintenance requirements and report functionality for multiple and varying types of internal and external databases. Utilizes independent judgment and critical thinking skills to perform concurrent and retrospective medical record reviews, extrapolate required data related to clinical practice, outcomes, core measures, compliance with policies and procedures and investigation of specific concerns and potential reportable events. Enters information into database with accuracy and completeness. Ensures data is factual, valid, reliable, objective and statistically sound. Produces various types of reports displaying quality and performance metrics for key stakeholders, leadership teams and quality committees to determine opportunities for improvement and identify and monitor trends. Makes professional data presentations to large and small audiences that include, but are not limited to, executive level quality and safety committees, staff meetings, committees and councils. Performs other duties as needed.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Minimum three years’ experience in a Children’s Hospital preferred.

Robust knowledge of data management and statistical analysis, problem-solving methodologies required. Basic knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations and accreditation, value-based care programs, quality, patient safety, performance improvement processes and methodologies, medical staff structure and peer review process required. Must demonstrate solid clinical knowledge of pediatric clinical practice and standards. Must have highly developed oral and written communication skills in English and make public presentations. Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Windows environment, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Outlook, electronic medical record, data bases, spreadsheets and graphics required. Must be consistent in following and enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction; think critically; use sound judgment based on factual information; set goals and work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions and statistical analysis of specialized data and ensure integrity of data; demonstrate expert time management and prioritize fluctuating workload to meet position demands; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position. Exhibit professional behavior at all times and display personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, discretion, confidentiality and sense of humor a plus.

Active California Registered Nurse License required(RN). Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (C PHQ) preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
