Meet one of the educational requirements and complete management course within the first six months of hired required: (1) Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required (in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports). (2) Associate’s Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in a non-Nursing field and a Master’s Degree in Nursing (in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports). Minimum three years nursing experience in area of specialty and in a facility with an equivalent patient acuity level required. Minimum one year of prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
 

Demonstrates competencies in clinical nursing, leadership, supervisory, management and communications skills, education, and/or staff development required. Knowledge of healthcare law and finance preferred. Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate and/or troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors on computer screens; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; read documents necessary to the position.
 

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic life Support (BLS) certification required. American Heart Association (AHA) approved Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (depending on assignment).
